Here is a little background info on the Dude's Band production...
I began actually drawing the Dude characters in my early teens, as doodles of the bands I was in at the time. Years passed and I left music to pursue a career in broadcast television production, however in 2005, finding myself with extra time on my hands, I had the inspiration to again revisit the band characters.
I purchased / downloaded SwishMax flash animation software, drew the characters and background scenes in Adobe Photoshop, wrote the script and recorded the voice characterizations on Sony ACID. I also enlisted the help of Overtone's vocalist Casandra Rose to read the part for Cleo.
The opening scene lasted just under two minutes and I uploaded it to a Myspace page as "Club 9" (the working title). I sent the link to some friends for their feedback, which eventually led me to complete about 15 minutes worth of other flash cartoons.
Unfortunately or fortunately at the time, my workload at Clay's Park increased and I had let the production slip away until recently. Fortunately or unfortunately at this time, I find myself again with more time on my hands. So, I thought, perhaps it's time to resurrect Dude and the Band.
After some experimental video cuts, I decided to reanimate the entire first episode in the 720x480 NTSC video format and would add sound and visual effects with Sony Movie Studio and planned to release the episodes on DVD. Which brings us to present.
Now with the pilot episode "in the can", I have begun production of two more episodes for the DVD. To help light the fire under my butt to actually finish this project, I decided to set a goal and deadline via IndieGoGo. This would help me raise some money for the initial printing and packaging costs, as well as put pressure on myself to finish the DVD by late summer.
So, there is a little inside info... I will be uploading other scenes from the pilot episode in the near future.
Thank you again and enjoy!
